Bag limit: One antlered deer per license year, plus one antlerless deer with each antlerless license or permit. Antlered deer need 3 points on one side in most of the state, or 3 points not counting the brow tine ("three up") in WMUs 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 2D. Junior license holders, mentored youth and a few other groups may take a buck with 2 points on one antler or a spike 3 inches or longer.
Draw or lottery: No, tags are available over the counter. No draw. The general hunting license includes one antlered deer tag. Antlerless licenses are sold first come, first served by WMU until each unit sells out. Residents were guaranteed one until July 13, 2026. Hunters may hold up to 6 unfilled antlerless licenses at a time (15 in WMUs 5C and 5D).
Resident cost: $20.97 to $56.88 (General hunting license $20.97 (includes one antlered deer tag). Add an archery license $16.97, a muzzleloader license $11.97 (October muzzleloader and flintlock seasons) and $6.97 for each antlerless license. The top of the range is all three add-ons with one antlerless license.)
Nonresident cost: $101.97 to $177.88 (General hunting license $101.97 (includes one antlered deer tag). Add an archery license $26.97, a muzzleloader license $21.97 (October muzzleloader and flintlock seasons) and $26.97 for each antlerless license. The top of the range is all three add-ons with one antlerless license.)
