Louisiana calls itself the Sportsman's Paradise, and the nickname is earned. The state's vast coastal marsh, the largest in the country, is a wintering ground for millions of ducks and a nursery for some of the finest inshore fishing anywhere. Hunting guides in Louisiana run marsh duck hunts and deer hunts in the bottomland hardwoods, while the swamps hold abundant wild hogs huntable year-round. The Mississippi Flyway funnels waterfowl straight into the state.

Fishing charters in Louisiana are legendary. Inshore guides chase redfish and speckled trout through the marsh near Venice, Hopedale, and Grand Isle, while offshore operations target yellowfin tuna, snapper, and the rigs that turn the Gulf into structure. Freshwater anglers find Toledo Bend and the Atchafalaya Basin loaded with bass and catfish. Few places offer this much water and this much wildlife.
